Erin Foley
Erin moved to Long Beach in 2006 after getting a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University focusing on Gender Studies, African American Studies, and mass movement building. Originally deterred in her college days from her goal to be a journalist due to the capitalist, patriarchal, white supremacist state of the status quo, Erin is proud to be a cofounder of FORTHE. To help bring a revolutionary new model that is fully funded by the community and not beholden to corporate interests has been life-giving. In addition to acting as an editor and staff writer, Erin writes a column called Eco Notes focused on intersectional environmental justice issues and also loves encouraging readers to support local music by publishing quarterly "Bandcamp Friday" Roundups.
