VIDEO: May Day 2020 Car Caravan Recap
1 minute readOn Friday, a coalition of community groups and their supporters formed a car caravan and visited multiple sites across Long Beach, including the homes of local elected officials. Organizers said the demands made by demonstrators are even more urgent than in other years due to the coronavirus exasperating existing racial and class disparities.
Their demands include rent forgiveness, expansion of protections for frontline workers, shelter for all unhoused people, and the release of immigrants from detention by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
