2 minute readOur first topic: Resistance. What does resistance mean? How do Long Beach artists and activists enact resistance in their work? Tune in to our first show to hear these music, poetry, and political organizers unpack the word “resistance” in their own way.

Sarah Thursday is a poet, publisher, and teacher. She started Cadence Collective.net and Sadie Girl Press, two local platforms that publish Long Beach authors and artists. She also recently started a bi-monthly support group for concerned citizens called Take Action Long Beach.
Alex Hattick is a social worker, musician, and music organizer. She founded Long Beach Music Collective, which releases thematic compilations featuring local musicians and artists. The current project is called Resist and Shout, focused on the theme of resistance, response and rebellion.
Erin Foley is a writer, activist, and community organizer. She co-founded the Friendship Neighborhood, which is a community organization intent on getting neighbors to know each other better in the Drake Park area. She is an avid supporter of coalition building in Long Beach.
